Just another day in the San Juan Playground

Oct 30

Things are starting to look and feel a lot like winter. It’s time to hit the hills, but make sure to follow proper backcountry avalanche traveling protocols and procedures. There have already been five reported avalanche accidents in the state of Colorado this winter season. That’s hard to believe seeing that it is not even November yet. Make sure to be safe out there and please feel free to send us any of your own outdoor outing photos that you would like us to post on our blog or web site.

Yours truly,
Josh Butson

Telluride Off season
Posted by Tara in Uncategorized on 10 18th, 2009| | Comments Off

It is the official last day of the summer fall season in Telluride the Gondola will be closed as of tomorrow.  Much of the town will close down as well, with out the tourist there is very little revenue to be had.  We are planning a road trip to Arizona Sedona possibly.  Josh’s parents are flying into Las Vegas and we are thinking of meeting up with them some place warm.  Some of our thoughts are of Zion a special place for both Josh and I,  when we were seniors in college Josh went on a geology trip to the west that included Zion and he was determined to bring me back.  A year latter we returned on our Honey Moon.  We have not been back sense but lately it has been coming up in conversation and the draw is great.  I am sure my knee can not handle and big climbs but it sure would be fun.  We will see.. The needles in South Dakota really got me wanting to climb again at the end of the season.  As the ice is forming.  I am very excited for ice season…. this should be a fun winter

So it is snowing in Telluride the leaves have all fallen and the ski season is sneaking up on us.  We just got back from the Needles in South Dakota where it snowed.  The we went to Boulder CO and climbed some until it snowed on us.  So last friday Josh and I came back to Telluride to regroup and plan our next adventure.  Maybe moab, or some where else not sure yet.
